For the first time ever, Engagement Academy for University Leaders is offering their award-winning public engagement training in Canada, in partnership with Memorial University’s Office of Public Engagement.

The Engagement Academy for University Leaders trainers have collaborated with the team at Memorial to develop a 2.5 day session that addresses key issues related to university-community engagement in Canada, with a special focus on how a committment to "place" can provide a useful and valuable focus in approaching this expanding aspect of university activity. 

Key topics include:

  • PE-oriented organizational change
  • Building, focusing, and advancing your public engagement action plan
  • Creating successful public engagement partnerships
  • Monitoring and evaluating public engagement
  • PE as a competitive advantage

Registration Fee

Registration for "Committed to Place: Leading Engaged Universities to Support Thriving Communities and Regions" includes all sessions, breakfast, lunch, and snacks for 2.5 days, along with a cultural event and dinner on the first night of the session. 

Registration does not include travel, ground transportation, or accommodation. Delegates are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation (see here for travel planning information.)

Cancellations and Refunds

If the conference is cancelled due to Canadian government restriction(s) and you are prevented from attending, we will offer you a full refund of conference fees.

Other types of cancellations will be addressed as follows:

  • 60 days before the event, or earlier: refund 100%, less $50 processing cost
  • 15-59 days before the event: refund 30%, less $50 processing cost
  • less than 15 days before the event: no refund

We are please to offer online payment by credit card or offline payment by Memorial University Journal Voucher (JV).
Please note that only Visa or MasterCard are accepted; Visa Debit and MasterCard Debit are not accepted at this time.
If you wish to pay by Memorial JV, please enter the FOAPAL or an email address to be contacted for this information below, and select Offline Payment on the following step to complete your registration. Please note that this option is only available to Memorial University registrants, and your registration will not be considered final until the transfer has been completed.
