Lindsay Patrick is the RBC Capital Markets ETF Trading Desk Strategist responsible for providing insights and analysis into the Global ETF market. Lindsay started her career at RBC CM in M&A Investment Banking in Toronto and she recently returned following a 10 year stint overseas which took her to Asia, the US and Europe.  Prior to coming back, Lindsay worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London where she held a variety of positions including the Head of the Global Equity Sales Team and Head of Macro Sales within the Global Equity Derivatives group.  Lindsay received her MBA with Honours in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, her BBA with Honours in International Business from Bishop’s University and is a CFA Charterholder.  Outside of work, she can be found running after her 4 boys on the soccer field, around the baseball diamond or at the hockey rink and is an active volunteer with the Halton District School Board and Children’s First Canada.

Joanna Zapior

Joanna Zapior joined CIBC in 1992 and is currently the Global Head of Macro Strategy. The Macro Strategy team articulates investment strategies across global currencies, rates, and sovereign and corporate credit, with in-depth research into North American and LATAM assets.  As part to of the Macro team Joanna is responsible for the bank’s corporate credit strategy. Joanna’s analysis includes credit spread and supply forecasts, corporate credit fundamentals, and within asset-class and cross-asset valuation.  She also leads our thematic cross-asset research coverage.  Prior to creating the Macro Strategy team, the corporate debt research team Joanna established at CIBC was ranked #1 in Canada for eight consecutive years, and institutional investors ranked Joanna as the #1 corporate debt analyst in Canada during those years.
Before embarking on an investment research career, Joanna practiced in the areas management consulting, asset securitization, money markets origination, government advisory, corporate lending, and bond sales. Joanna holds an MA in linguistics and an MBA, and is a CFA charterholder.
Joanna is a member of the CIBC Pension Plan Investment Committee and CIBC Capital Markets MD Nomination Committee, and for five years was a member of the CIBC Capital Markets Operating Committee. She has volunteered for the Toronto CFA Society Fixed Income Committee and Women in Capital Markets mentorship and senior leadership initiatives. Her outside interests include talent and human capital development as well as financial literacy.

Alfred is a portfolio manager at BMO Asset Management Inc. where he manages fixed income and preferred share related mandates for both institutional and retail clients. As part of the global fixed income management team, he is involved in the management and trading of a wide variety of portfolios including Canadian bonds, U.S. investment grade, high yield, European and Asian bonds, emerging market debt and others. Previously, he worked for a large Canadian based brokerage developing ETF related strategies and sat on the firm's investment committee. Alfred is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, majoring in economics and holds the CFA, Chartered Market Technician and Derivatives Market Specialist and DMS designations.

Daniel Straus joined National Bank’s ETF Research group as a research associate in 2010 and was promoted to Vice President in 2017. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science and Engineering from the University of Toronto, a Ph.D. in Engineering from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and a Master of Finance degree from the Schulich School of Business.
