Please join the Educational Technology Council, in partnership with the Alberta Teachers' Association, for an evening public lecture with two world renowned researchers and keynote speakers to discuss the promise and peril of technology for children, youth, families and communities. This evening public lecture will include a wine and cheese reception.
Our two internationally renowned speakers - Professor Jean Twenge (Psychologist, San Diego State University) and Dr. Michael Rich (Pediatrician, Harvard Medical School) - have had their research covered in Time Magazine, Newsweek, The New York Times, USA Today, Globe & Mail, and The Washington Post, and featured on CBC, CBS (60 Minutes & This Morning), Fox & Friends, NBC (Dateline & Nightly News) and National Public Radio (NPR).
Why is a growing body of research indicating that today’s super-connected kids are growing up less rebellious and more tolerant, but less happy?
To what extent are the smartphones, tablets and the digital gadgets that we cherish increasingly reshaping our minds and bodies?
Are today’s children and youth growing up more to be more (dis)connected, distracted or addicted?
