OTF Summer Institutes 2016
Please check back frequently. More information will be added as it becomes available.
This summer, OTF, with the support of the Ministry of Education, is offering a variety of professional learning events that give you time to learn, reflect on your classroom practice, and collaborate with peers. Connections to new and revised curricula will be emphasized throughout the 2016 Summer Institutes, many of which are supported by provincial subject/division associations.
Focusing on three main topics, this summer’s offerings are designed to:
- Support for implementing revised curriculum
- Infusing financial literacy
- Enhancing expertise in Mathematics
- Using information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance teaching and learning
These intensive, three-day workshops will enable participants to come together with colleagues to reflect on their teaching practice, share what works and what does not, network and collaborate, examine resources and programs that are available from a variety of organizations and assess how these resources may be used in their classrooms.
The Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF) has an exceptional history of developing and implementing effective professional development opportunities for teachers employed in Ontario’s publicly-funded school system. OTF strives to provide high-quality, cost-effective learning opportunities that are relevant to the current needs of its members.
A registration fee of $50 covers workshop materials, on-site meals and two nights of shared accommodation.
Participants may also be eligible for a transportation subsidy. See our FAQ page for more information.
This $50 fee will be reimbursed upon successful completion of a workshop.
