The focus of this session will be an Ontario First Nations approach to source water protection planning which was recently used to develop the M'Chigeeng First Nation Source Water Protection Plan. This session will examine the steps used to develop the plan including the unique challenges encountered and solutions found including some of the strategies used to engage the community in the planning process. The workshop will also focus on the outcomes of the plan including the threat identification, risk assessment and mitigation measures developed to protect this community's local waters.
