Date: Thursday, August 27 2015
Time: 9:00 -  10:00 a.m.
Room: Erin Mills

First Nation Chief and Band Councils have an important role to play within their First Nations Emergency Management System.  The one hour workshop will provide an overview of emergency management systems and identify the roles and responsibilities the Chief and Band Council before, during and after an emergency.  The Chief and Band Council has the overall responsibility to mitigate risk, provide for the safety of the community by ensuring emergency response plans are in place and test annually.  They are also available to make strategic decisions when an emergency begins to stress the emergency response system and the community. We invite Chief, Councillors and Senior Management to attend the workshop.
