Dear colleagues,

On behalf of EMSP’s Conference Committee, we are delighted to invite you to Oslo, Norway, for the EMSP Annual Spring Conference that will take place on 17 – 18 May 2016. The Annual General Meeting of the EMSP Council will take place on 16 May, followed by the Conference on May 17-18.

The theme of the 2016 Spring Conference is: Growing with MSBuilding on the success of previous EMSP conferences, the event will bring together people with MS, advocacy organisations, healthcare professionals and researchers, alongside policy-makers from across Europe to offer you a dynamic mix of presentations, sessions and debates. The event represents another milestone to work towards our common goal and improve the quality of life of people with MS.

The scientific programme at the conference will cover a broad range of topics on the latest therapies and access to innovative treatments to tackle MS. A particular focus will be on the unmet needs of people with MS, the invisible facets and everyday challenges. The conference will also feature an update on the latest research studies and surveys, such as the LSE HTA study or the new Cost of Illness study.

Highlights of the event will include:

  1. Our special guest, Lori Schneider, the first person with MS who has summited Mount Everest and completed the Seven Summits.

  2. Presentation of the outcomes of the Pact of Employment for People with MS

  3. Launch of the MS Nurse programme in Norway

The event also marks the 50th  anniversary of the Norwegian MS Society and we are delighted to welcome you to the Thon Opera hotel, located just across the famous Oslo Opera House. We will also celebrate together Norway’s national day on 17 May. We invite you to bring your national costumes and join the Norwegian parade and celebration in the morning.

We encourage individual patients, patient organisations, healthcare professionals, carers, researchers, public health officials and policy-makers – and the industry – at the national, regional and EU level - to attend this conference, which will provide an exceptional forum for the exchange and sharing of knowledge and experience.

We hope that you will find the conference and your stay in Norway both valuable and enjoyable.
