The Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF) presents a dynamic three-day conference where teachers will have a unique opportunity to work hands-on with Garfield Gini-Newman and Will Richardson to develop skills for the Web 2.0 world.
This dynamic three-day conference will inform teachers on current Information Communication Technology (ICT) using an inquiry-based approach. Teachers of all grades and subject areas will examine ways to deepen student learning through technology-enhanced critical inquiry. Participants will have the opportunity to become fluent in specific technologies and will leave with ideas and practical examples on how they can effectively apply the technologies to their classroom practice. A Panel Discussion with Will Richardson, Affiliate, teacher, student and Board representation will address concerns regarding the use of Web 2.0 tools. The facilitators for the conference will be Will Richardson and Garfield Gini-Newman. OTF will again partner with the Educational Computing Organization of Ontario (ECOO). ECOO members will be offering technical support and facilitating the Minds on Media program on the third day.
Registration closes on January 19, after which registrants will have access to the Minds on Media wiki link for more information on the facilitators and their centres.
This conference is specifically for teachers who did not participate in either of the following OTF programs:
Expanding Our Boundaries, February 27-28, 2009
Teaching & Learning in the 21st Century: Extending the Conversation, October 30-31, 2009
* Registrations submitted by ineligible candidates will be subject to a $10 cancellation fee.
