Thank you for attending the inaugural 2011 Aboriginal Postsecondary Education Gathering, which took place on March 2 and 3, 2011 at the Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre Hotel.
The Gathering brought together leaders, faculty, practitioners, administrators, educators, learners, Elders, Senators and youth who all shared common goals – to improve the educational achievements of Aboriginal people, to close the educational attainment gap between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal learners in Ontario, and to Learn from Each Other, the theme of the Gathering.
The Gathering and the launch of Ontario’s Aboriginal Postsecondary Education and Training Policy Framework provide the momentum for moving forward in Ontario with a renewed approach to Aboriginal postsecondary education.
We would like to thank those who contributed their time and ideas to support the development and implementation of the Gathering, including our Program Working and Steering Committees and our dedicated ministry staff.
We hope that the Gathering served as an informative and effective learning experience and that you carried what you learnt home with you, and shared with others in your organizations, institutions, agencies, communities and families!
